B ED. PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES |
Enable teacher trainees to explore the meaning, need, and significance of education, understand its philosophical, socio-cultural, and political foundations, and critically examine their own beliefs and assumptions about teaching, learning, and knowledge.
Equip future teachers with knowledge of child and adolescent development, individual differences, personality theories, and the needs of exceptional and marginalized learners, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
Provide an understanding of psychological principles related to learning, motivation, retention, transfer of training, and curriculum transaction, and apply these in effective classroom management, assessment, guidance, and counseling.
Develop awareness of the socio-economic, cultural, and political realities of Indian society, and prepare teachers to address issues of marginalization, disability, and diversity through inclusive education practices that promote democratic and equitable learning.
Familiarize teacher trainees with the scope and application of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in education, and encourage reflective, research-informed, and innovative teaching practices for continuous professional growth.
